Scented Candles

Character guide description: "Their calming aroma makes any room they're placed in less prone to hosting dangerous events. Best used in much frequented areas!"

Character select menu description: "Whenever I light one, everything around me feels safer and more peaceful." - Sophie

Episode 1/2/4 description: "Sophie always said that the scent of these candles made her feel more at peace... Safer." - Daniel

Scented candles can be placed on the ground, providing a small area to improve serenity. If Sophie places a candle but is then killed, the candle remains in the same place for the next character (although it cannot be picked up).

Trivia[]

  • Although Sophie and Daniel were together and got divorced, they are still friendly towards each other. Sophie even says that she wishes that things could have been different (meaning he didn't get addicted to alcohol), which hints that she may still love him. Although this could simply also be leftover love from what once was. However, she does mention, while facing the horrors in the abbey, that they're rebuilding more than their friendship and that she cannot allow herself to lose Daniel.
  • Sophie has two friends/family members named Amelia and Bernard.
  • Sophie had the opportunity to be Playable in episode 3, but in the return poll, alongside René. Erica, Etienne, Alexander, and Alina, she lost the majority vote and the rights to become playable in episode 3. She had 19% of the votes respectively.
  • Sophie and Daniel are the only two characters who have had their voice actors revealed.
  • Sophie's voice actor is Elizabeth Wautlet.
  • Sophie is one of the second most playable characters along with Etienne as she is playable in four episodes.
  • Sophie is one of the first playable characters introduced.
  • Sophie refers to Erica, Grace, And Etienne by their first name when seeing their ghost, while she calls Alexander, “Mr. Laskin”, Ernest by “Mr. Finnegan” and Omar as “Professor Nassiri.” She will not recognize Alina and Alexander in Episode 1, and will not recognize Erica and Grace in their respective debut episodes, as she refers to Erica as “Miss.”
  • Analysing Husher's motorbike reminds her of how she wanted to drive and own one but gave up due to Daniel insisting that it was too dangerous.
  • If Sophie completed Episode 5, there is a possibility that she would die whilst escaping the asylum or after the events. This is evident when she played the music box's song on the piano. Hearing the song in any shape or form will curse the listener, as it was previously played in the form of an orchestra in St. Cecelia's Abbey. To conclude, it is very likely that she met her demise afterwards.
